Fabric! And, where have I been??

Ugh! I’ve been MIA! Actually, work has kept me busy…and tired! I’m no spring chicken anymore! I’m also a full-time special education teacher by day. It’s been a crazy school year with Covid – and between teaching online and getting ready to go back in-person (which I will take over online ANY DAY!), I just haven’t had much time to devote to my favorite hobby, let alone this blog. Anyway, I hope that I’ll find more time. April vacation is coming to a close, which means we’re in the home stretch. I think I counted 7 1/2 weeks left until summer! Oh yeah, I recently got married (April 3 – 4/3/21 – cool date, huh?)! Anyway, I digress…

I have a problem – I’m addicted to fabric! There. I said it! Isn’t admitting you have a problem the first step in fixing it? Um, sure… I don’t think this is a problem I WANT to fix! Although I do need to start using some. I’m running out of room to store it! But it’s so pretty, I just can’t help myself! I love pre-cuts, especially fat quarter bundles. How can you NOT love these beauties? I recently joined the monthly subscription club from Creative Notions. After thinking about it for quite some time and checking out the different ones out there, I settled on this one. Just personal preference. Super pretty though! What sold it for me was the gnome panel from their February box that I wanted to get anyway. So I ordered that one because they had some left, and then signed up for automatic shipments. The March box is pictured, but this isn’t everything! It also came with a mesh bag and each month they are sending one of their rulers! Plus they’re having a block contest – maybe one of these months I’ll enter! Like I don’t have enough on my plate already!

Speaking of blocks, I want to get into pattern design (again, like I DON’T have ENOUGH already!). I think I want to invest in EQ8. Maybe in the next month or two. I will definitely do a blog post when I do and try it out.

The different fabrics in the photo slideshow: Maywood Studios – Kimberbell Basics in Winter and Fall, Chambray Tonals from Connecting Threads, Opal Sky by Wilmington, Mill Creek Garden by Moda, Sunset Coast by Robert Kaufman, various Boundless Fabrics sets, Pearl Reflections from Benartex, and the blue fabrics came with my subscription box.

So, tell me – any other fabriholics out there (your secret is safe with me!)? What’s your favorite pre-cuts? Do you do any subscription boxes? What are your experiences?
